After creating the brand identity last year for LaConner Pets, we've continued to roll out branded ads and promotional items for the store. Prompting this feedback from the client were designs for outdoor sidewalk signs that catch your attention when driving by, while communicating a timely branded message.   Interior page layout was my thing this year! Below is a visual recap of the books I worked on with Munn Avenue Press in 2025. I like to give the reader a dramatic drop cap or an art element at the top of each chapter page for a visual break and to set the tone for a new section. It was my privilege to work with Dr. Christian Marcolli on the design and formatting for the interior pages of Winning Match, a game-changing leadership book full of sports and business examples. All colors, fonts and images are custom developed to be consistent with the cover elements of this book and the author's brand. High-end finishes, full color pages and geometric elements deliver cohesive messaging from cover to cover. Available now in paperback, hard cover and Kindle books.   Each week a different pet gets to star in a local newspaper ad for La Conner Pets. According to owner Tracy, customers comment daily on the ads and it's a community-building incentive to bring their leashed pet while they shop and have a picture taken. I love supporting this small business and seeing which pet will be featured next.  New cover art for Next Level Woman. It was a joy working through bold cover ideas for this engaging and transformational book by Nevsah, whose mission is to help individuals discover their authentic path in life. Coming soon!  Interior page design for Whispers: A Tale of Madness, Betrayal and Revenge. It's a fascinating psychological thriller, written by renowned author J. Herman Kleiger. Learn more and see page samples here.  We drove up to the Skagit Valley during tulip season and stopped at my new favorite pet store—LaConner Pets! Some of the new signage had been installed and the graphics on the cute delivery car were in place. The main logo sign on the front of the building is still to come. We stopped at a tulip farm to see those gorgeous tulips and had lunch along the channel in LaConner. A great day trip and loved seeing owner Tracy and the logo out in the wild. LaConner Pets is a new pet store in a cute tourist town near the tulip fields in Washington state. The owner wanted a whimsical, circus feel for the new branding and this is what we came up with. I'll be visiting the store this week to see the new logo and signage in person. More pics coming soon!  I designed the interior pages for this new book by Don Weiss, who served as an infectious disease epidemiologist for 23 years with the New York City Department of Health. This is a captivating collection of true stories from the frontlines of public health in NYC from 2000 to 2022. Each chapter unfolds like a mystery, blending scientific detective work with personal insights and historical context, making for a thrilling and educational read. Available on amazon!  |
